Every BMXer out there will have had the desire to bunnyhop higher than what they are able to.
Physical exercise can only do so much in achieving a higher bunnyhop.
Technology is the best way to take us beyond our physical limits.
Like any great technology, BMX in the future I believe will also be used as a military tool.
Whether it will be used for offensive, defensive, reconnaissance, evasive, evacuation etc. applications, I dunno, but military definitively.
Perhaps other applications and uses as well.
We are not there yet to speculate too much for now.
What is important is expanding it's capabilities for our recreational enjoyment.
BMX is a machine of fun and joy and happiness.
When I ride bmx I feel a natural high and a sense of control and power over my environment at the same time.
I guess the feeling of control is caused by the immediate response of the bike to my actions, which one does not always experience in the work place or otherwise.
Also, it is one of the few machines that all four of ones limbs are on and used at the same time.
This makes for more production of endorphins, I think.
Also, it makes for harder, thicker bones, wide, strong shoulders bigger hands and forearms a strong back, gluteus, upper legs, generally a strong body overall.
It also creates more even development and strengthening of limbs and other body parts, as opposed to a sport like tennis, which I've heard, only one's right arm is strengthened and the left arm is left sort of "undeveloped".
It is the ultimate fitness, strength and happiness machine all rolled up in one.
Just a note: If you're a bmxer you should seriously invest in basic body protection as it will save you from disruptive injuries like pedal bites and OTB slams.
The injury itself may not be that painful, but the healing process can disrupt one's life for months at a time.
Injury treatment and managent is important for healing of an open wound. If you ride bmx and don't know how to treat a wound, you risk infection and other more serious conditions. So educate yourself.
Protective gear will save you all this trouble. I recommend shin pads and hand gloves as a priority buy.
I will be presenting my ideas for better and more optimal bmx design in posts entitled "Evolution of BMX"
which I believe will cause a revolution in the bmx world as it will allow us to achieve our dreams of a 60 - 100 inch bunnyhop.
So keep a look out.
